The design and technology of a mold production for the precision casting
Kopcík, Daniel ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The theoretical part of this bachelor´s thesis describes basic attributes of the lost wax casting method. The aforementioned section describes casting stages from component assignment to model casting, with the main concern of making wax model moulds, materials employed for moulding mixtures and casting accuracy achieved by precise casting. The experimental part begins with mould design for two components set by a customer, continues with focusing on design of casting and wax model mould. This is followed with creation of the CNC machine control program as well as choice of the moulding mixture and finally description of such casting. The experimental section is concluded by brief description of casting test and evaluation of the quality and accuracy of cast parts.

Gamma TiAl processing-microstructure-properties relationship
Dočekalová, Kateřina ; Válek, Robert ; Zemčík, L. ; Dlouhý, Antonín
The paper presents results of the optimized melting and casting technology of the TiAl intermetallic components. The metallography analysis contributed to the understanding of the interaction between the intermetallic melt and the crucible wall. A thermodynamic study of the interaction kinetics rationalized the contamination of the melt with ceramic particles.
Metallography of gamma TiAl intermetallic casts
Dlouhý, Antonín ; Válek, Robert ; Svoboda, Milan ; Zemčík, L.
A quantitative metallographic study was performed which focussed on the cast versions of advanced intermetallic alloys based on gamma TiAl phase. Specimens cut out of cast rods and turbine blades exhibited two pronounced microstructural characteristics: (i) a preferential orientation of lamellae in columnar grains below the cast surface and (ii) increasing fraction of equiaxed grains towards the central part of the casts. The relation between the particular microstrucrure and creep strength has been documented.
